Fargo, ND (Sports Network) - TrayVonn Wright finished with 17 points to lead
the North Dakota State Bison to their 10th straight home win as they took down
the South Dakota Coyotes, 65-46, in a Summit League bout at the Bison Sports
Arena.
For the Bison (18-5, 9-2 Summit), Brett VandenBergh added 14 points, Kory
Brown chipped in with 10 and Lawrence Alexander dished out eight assists.
Brandon Bos led the Coyotes (8-15, 4-7) with 16 points, while Trevor Gruis
finished with 14.
NDSU shot 43.5 percent from the field in the first half, including 4-of-14
from 3-point range, as they were able to go into halftime leading 24-15. USD
struggled from the floor, making just 35 percent of their field goal tries and
missing all but one of their eight shots from beyond the 3-point arc.
After intermission the Bison came out hot, connecting on 57.7 percent of their
field goal attempts and 5-of-10 from 3-point distance. The Coyotes improved to
43.5 percent from the field and made 3-of-5 of their 3-point tries in the
half. The Bison pushed their lead to as many as 23 points in the second half,
as they cruised to victory.
The Bison forced a total of 14 turnovers, trading them in for 17 points along
the way.
