San Antonio, TX (Sports Network) - Sim Bhullar recorded his first career
double-double with 17 points as the New Mexico State Aggies defeated the
Texas-San Antonio Roadrunners, 75-62, in Western Athletic Conference action at
the Convocation Center.
Bhullar recorded a career-high 18 rebounds and five blocks in the Aggies'
(15-8, 9-2 WAC) victory. Bandja Sy also chipped in 17 points and was three
boards shy of a double-double. Renaldo Dixon added 12 points and five blocks
as New Mexico State won its ninth consecutive game.
For the Roadrunners (5-16, 1-10), Michael Hale III recorded a game-high 20
points and five assists. Kannon Burrage contributed 18 points and seven
boards. Jordan Sims added 12 points and seven boards as UTSA lost its third
consecutive game.
New Mexico State made 7-of-10 from beyond the arc and jumped out to an early
8-0 lead in the first half, eventually claiming a 41-32 advantage at the
break.
The Roadrunners struggled shooting in the second making 30 percent from the
floor including a mere 2-of-16 from long-range as the Aggies coasted to the
win.
New Mexico State dominated in points in the paint, 36-18, and bench points
14-6.
