College Station, TX (Sports Network) - Nerlens Noel scored 19 points to go
with 14 rebounds as the Kentucky Wildcats held on for a 72-68 win in
overtime over the Texas A&M Aggies during SEC action at Reed Arena.
Julius Mays added 19 points of his own and Kyle Wiltjer tacked on 10 for
Kentucky (15-6, 6-2 SEC) which has won five of its last six.
Elston Turner had 21 points, Ray Turner recorded a double-double of 12
points and 11 rebounds and Fabyon Harris tacked on 14 points for Texas A&M
(13-8, 3-05) which has lost five of its last six.
Kentucky led 30-21 at halftime by shooting 47.8 percent from the field
while holding the Aggies to just seven field goals in the first 20 minutes.
The Wildcats led for the entire second half until Elston Turner capped off
a 10-2 run down the stretch with a jumper that sent the game to overtime
with the teams knotted at 62-62.
The Wildcats opened the extra period on a 6-1 run and hit 8-of-10 free
throw attempts in the frame to hold on for the win.
