Kent, OH (Sports Network) - Randal Holt recorded 17 points as the Kent State
Golden Flashes defeated the Eastern Michigan Eagles, 77-62, in Mid-American
Conference action at the M. A. C. Center.
Holt was 5-of-10 from long range and added six assists in the Golden Flashes'
(12-10, 3-5 MAC) victory. Chris Evans contributed 15 points, five steals, and
four boards. Darren Goodson added 12 points as Kent State won a fifth
consecutive game.
For the Eagles (10-11, 3-4), Derek Thompson scored 17 points off the bench but
was the only player in double-figures as Eastern Michigan lost for the second
time in three games.
Both teams made 11 field goals in the first half, but Eastern Michigan had
only two 3-pointers and two foul shots, compared to Kent State's four
3-pointers and six free-throws. The Golden Flashes took a 32-26 advantage
before the half.
Kent State knocked down 5-of-12 from beyond the arc and held the Eagles to a
scoreless from long range, en route to the 16-point victory.
Eastern Michigan was held to a mere 2-of-12 from long-range, while Kent State
made 45.3 percent from the floor including nine 3-pointers on the night.
