Washington, D.C. (Sports Network) - Ramon Galloway and D.J. Peterson each
scored 15 points to pace six players in double figures for La Salle, as the
Explorers earned an 80-71 win over the George Washington Colonials in Atlantic
10 Conference action at the Smith Center.
Jerrell Wright and Sam Mills had 12 points apiece, while Tyreek Duren and
Tyrone Garland each scored 11 for the Explorers (15-6, 5-3 A-10), who
continued their best start since the 1990-91 season.
Isaiah Armwood paced the Colonials (10-10, 4-3) with a game-high 17 points and
nine rebounds, although his five turnovers were also a game-high. Patricio
Garino and Dwayne Smith both had 11 points in the loss, and Kevin Larsen
rounded out the double-digit scorers with 10 points.
La Salle had the hot hand early on, as the Explorers knocked down 7-of-14 3-
pointers in the first half to grab a 39-30 lead at the break.
The Explorers led by as many as 20 with just under nine minutes to play in
regulation before GW narrowed the gap down the stretch.
The Colonials made only 3-of-11 threes for the game, while La Salle shot 11-
of-25 from beyond the arc.
