Newark, DE (Sports Network) - Devon Saddler had a game-high 21 points to go
along with seven rebounds, as the Delaware Blue Hens claimed a 71-56 win over
the UNC-Wilmington Seahawks in Colonial Athletic Association play at the
Carpenter Center.
Jamelle Hagins notched his 12th double-double of the season with 20 points and
11 rebounds for the Blue Hens (11-11, 6-3 CAA), winners of three straight.
Jarvis Threatt added 15 points and four steals in the victory.
Craig Ponder had 14 points and Keith Rendleman scored 11 for the Seahawks
(8-13, 3-6), who fell to 1-11 on the road this season.
The Blue Hens were sharp defensively from the start, as they held UNCW to 9-
of-29 shooting from the floor (.310) in the first half to claim a 33-24
halftime lead.
Delaware led by as many as 15 midway through the second half, and the Blue
Hens kept the Seahawks at bay with a 16-of-20 effort at the foul line over the
final 20 minutes.
Sadder scored in double figures for a CAA-best 28th straight game to help the
Blue Hens upend UNCW at home for the fifth straight time.
