Las Vegas, NV (Sports Network) - Anthony Bennett scored 17 points to lead the
UNLV Rebels to a 62-50 win over the Wyoming Cowboys in a Mountain West clash
at the Thomas & Mack Center.
Anthony Marshall chipped in 12 points and nine assists for UNLV (16-4, 3-2
Mountain West) which has won three of its last four. Quintrell Thomas added 13
points on 6-of-8 from the field off the bench.
Larry Nance Jr. scored 16 points on 7-of-10 shooting while Leonard Washington
went for 13 points and seven boards as Wyoming (15-3, 2-3) dropped its third
game in its last five after beginning the season 13-0.
Wyoming scored the first eight points of the contest but trailed 29-25 at
halftime after UNLV shot 47.4 percent and outrebounded the Cowboys, 16-9.
The Rebels stretched their lead to 62-44 with 5:15 remaining and despite not
scoring the rest of the way, held on for the win. UNLV tallied nine points off
of turnovers and converted 7-of-7 at the charity stripe over the final 20
minutes.
UNLV held a 19-7 advantage in bench points and kept the Cowboys without a
transition basket.
