Salt Lake City, UT (Sports Network) - Four players scored in double figures
for UCLA as the Bruins kept their winning streak alive with a 57-53 win over
the Utah Utes in Pac-12 action at the Huntsman Center.
Travis Wear, Jordan Adams and Larry Drew each scored 12 points and Kyle
Anderson added in 11 for UCLA (13-, 3-0 Pac-12) which has won eight straight.
Leading scored Shabazz Muhammad managed just six points on 3-of-13 shooting
while Wear and Adams each collected eight rebounds.
Cedric Martin had 12 points and Jason Washburn and Jordan Loveridge each
added 11 for Utah (8-7, 0-3 Pac-12) which has lost four of its last five.
Washburn also collected 11 rebounds in the contest.
In the first half UCLA hit 13-of-32 shots from the field, including 4-of-9
from beyond the arc to take a 34-23 lead into intermission. Utah shot just
39.1 percent in the first period.
After trailing by as many as 12 points in the second half, Utah pulled to
within two, 55-53, with a little more than three minutes remaining. However
the Utes would get no closer as they missed their final six field goal
attempts.
Other than a Drew layup with nine seconds remaining, neither team scored in
the final three minutes of the game.
