College Station, TX (Sports Network) - Kourtney Roberson tallied a double-
double with 13 points and 12 rebounds to help lead the Texas A&M Aggies to a
69-51 win over the Arkansas Razorbacks in the SEC opener for each team at Reed
Arena.
Fabyon Harris led all scorers with 17 points for Texas A&M (11-3, 1-0 SEC),
making all 10 of his attempts from the free throw line. Elston Turner added 15
points and eight rebounds for the Aggies, who have won three in a row.
For Arkansas (9-5, 0-1), only B.J. Young scored in double figures with 13
points. The Razorbacks snapped a five-game winning streak with the setback.
Arkansas outshot Texas A&M from the field in the first half, 41.7 percent to
30.3 percent, but the Aggies were able to take a 29-24 lead into intermission
by draining a pair of 3-pointers and shooting 7-of-10 from the foul line. The
Razorbacks went without a long range bucket in the opening 20 minutes and made
good on only 4-of-11 from the stripe.
The Aggies improved their field goal shooting to 44 percent after the break as
they led by double-digits for nearly the entire second half.
Texas A&M finished the game 22-of-27 from the foul line, while Arkansas was
just 4-of-15.
