Knoxville, TN (Sports Network) - Jeronne Maymon scored 18 points and pulled
down 11 rebounds as the Tennessee Volunteers topped the Ole Miss Rebels,
73-60, in SEC play at Thompson-Boling Arena.
Also scoring in double figures for the Volunteers (15-13, 7-6 SEC) were Jordan
McRae with 16 points off the bench, Trae Golden 11 and Cameron Tatum and
Dwight Miller with 10 points apiece in the team's fifth win in the last six
outings.
The Rebels (15-12, 5-8), losers of three straight and five of the last six,
were paced by Terrance Henry with 15 points, followed by Murphy Holloway with
13, Nick Williams 11 points and Jelan Kendrick 10 off the bench in the
setback.
Ole Miss made good on an impressive 52.0 percent from the field in the first
half, but the team missed all five chances behind the three-point line and
that left the Rebels with just a 31-30 lead at the break.
In the second half Tennessee bounced back with 17-of-21 shooting at the free-
throw line in order to capture the double-digit home win.
The Vols won the battle of the boards, 40-28, and also outscored the visitors
at the charity stripe, 18-7.
