SPENCER, OK -- When you're at work, do you ever dream of something else?

You might not admit to it, but Gary Boyles can.

He owns the Archer Printing Company in Spencer, Oklahoma and between runs of hospital forms and toner refills, he occasionally gives in to flights of fancy about his favorite sport: Stock car racing.

It may seem like some sort of Walter Mitty daydream, but it's very real.

For the past few weeks now, Gary's garage door's opened on to a stock car treasure.

His all time hero was Dale Earnhardt, so he bought the all-time Earnhardt souvenir: A 2000 Chevy Monte Carlo, straight from North Carolina.

If the 2000 NASCAR rules were still in place Gary could race this car.

He bought it from a boyhood friend of Dale's who pieced it together from spare parts he begged from the Childress Garage over the years.

"I found out about it and just hit him at the right time and was able to buy it," Gary explained.

Everything on it is perfect, right down to the place where Dale used to stick his Big Red gum on the frame.

Gary has a whole room full of race trophies and Earnhardt memorabilia to stare at in his trophy room, but he spends most of his time in the garage now or the driveway staring at something he can still hardly believe, a piece of racing history he only wishes he could race himself.

The car isn't street legal, and Gary says it's too risky to for him to take it to a track.
