JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) - Travis Cohn scored 16 points and Ayron Hardy added a double-double to help Jacksonville beat Florida Gulf Coast 71-56 on Saturday.
Hardy finished with 11 points, 12 rebounds, four assists and
three blocked shots for the Bulls (6-1, 2-0 Atlantic Sun
Conference). Delwan Graham had 14 points and five rebounds.
Jacksonville jumped out to an early lead against the Eagles,
claiming a 16-2 advantage. The early spurt was capped by a
3-pointer from Cohn, who shot 3 for 5 from beyond the arc and had eight rebounds.
Florida Gulf Coast answered with a 19-5 run to tie the game at
21-21 on a jumper by Marlon Rivera in the first half. But the
Eagles (2-5, 0-2) never pulled ahead as Jacksonville pushed its
margin to 10 points with 18:06 left in the second half on Glenn
Powell's layup.
Jacksonville took its largest lead at 16 points with 11:14 left.
