JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Rashean Mathis is already playing with a cast to protect a broken finger, but now it looks like the Jaguars cornerback will be on the sidelines because of a groin injury he suffered on Sunday.
It's unknown at this point how much time Mathis will miss. Jack Del Rio said, "It doesn't look like it'll be great for the next week or two."
The Jags coach said he'll have an update on Rashean's status on Wednesday after he undergoes and MRI and is evaluated by the team's medical staff.
Del Rio was asked on Monday if Reggie Nelson would move to corner to replace Mathis just like he did a few weeks ago in Tennessee. Jack didn't rule that out and said that Nelson's only problem in that game was that he didn't tackle well. The former Gator has played better in the two games since the loss to the Titans.
