Dual-threat carries the Charlton County Indians Varsity past Gordon Lee 7-3

FOLKSTON, Ga. -- The Charlton County High School baseball team played in Game 2 of the GHSA Class A state championship on Saturday against Gordon Lee.

Charlton County junior pitcher LJ Talley came up big at the plate and on the mound, leading the Indians to a 7-3 win over Gordon Lee on Saturday at Indian Field.

LJ was dominant, striking out eight and allowing just two earned runs on 10 hits and no walks over seven innings.

He scored one run and had one RBI. He singled in the third inning.

Gordon Lee's starting pitcher Conard Broom ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He lasted just five innings, walked four, struck out nine, and allowed four runs.

The Charlton County Indians Varsity added three more runs in the top of the sixth.

Game 3 is scheduled for Monday at 2:00pm.
