Local flavors reign supreme at THE PLAYERS

Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. --- This year, THE PLAYERS Championship put an emphasis on local cuisine to enhance the dining experience for fans at the tournament.

For the very first time, local gem Taco Lou took its wildly popular Baja Mexican cuisine from the Beach to THE PLAYERS.

Nestled under a blanket of shady trees, Tacos on 12 is one of the coolest spots on the course.

Owner of TacoLu, Don Nicol is excited to have this opportunity.

"They offered us this place. And they said were going to put you out on 12 which is essentially the middle of nowhere to essentially create another spot for people to come and hang out and its beautiful out here so were having a ball and were glad were here," said Nicol.

In years past the dining options were limited, now tasting the home-grown flavors are at a premium at THE PLAYERS. Longtime Jacksonville resident is thrilled with the options.

"Fantastic you've got all the different places like BBQ, Wood Fire Pizza we just got some Pad Thai," he said.

One golf fan went on to say how wonderful it is to have such diversity of culinary choices at THE PLAYERS.

He reveals, "We really enjoyed the choices that were available to us and not so much the common turn food if you will."

THE PLAYERS also invited popular food trucks to the venue this year.

Trucks on 10 is loaded with a variety of fare that will satisfy the taste buds of everyone in the family. A good call since the food trucks craze seems to be catching fire on the first coast. The owner of Mama's Food truck explained just how popular food trucks have become in our area.

"People are having food trucks out for weddings and receptions and all sorts of things so its really getting popular here in Jacksonville," she said.

This one of a kind culinary experience will allow you to enjoy a taste of Jacksonville with a side of golf.
