Marana, AZ (Sports Network) - The field for the upcoming World Golf
Championships - Accenture Match Play Championship was finalized on Friday.
Brackets and tee times for the event, which takes place Feb. 18-24 at The Golf
Club at Dove Mountain, will be released Sunday.
Rory McIlroy, Tiger Woods, Luke Donald and Justin Rose, world Nos. 1, 2, 3 and
5, respectively, highlight the 64-man field.
World No. 26 Hunter Mahan will be on hand to defend his title in an attempt to
retain the Walter Hagen Cup when the 32 first-round matches begin on
Wednesday, Feb. 20.
Brandt Snedeker and Phil Mickelson, world Nos. 4 and 10, are not in the field.
The former withdrew due to sore ribs and the latter cited scheduled family
obligations. Shane Lowry (No. 65) and Fredrik Jacobson (No. 66) will fill the
vacated spots.
