Barrington, RI (Sports Network) - Tournament hosts Billy Andrade and Brad
Faxon teamed for a 9-under 62 on Monday to share the first-round lead at the
CVS Charity Classic.
Juli Inkster, who returned to action after an elbow injury, and Dana Quigley
joined the hosts and Morgan Pressel and Jay Haas in a share of first at Rhode
Island Country Club.
Alexis Thompson and Corey Pavin paired for an 8-under 63 and are alone in
fourth place.
The teams of Cristie Kerr and John Cook, Lorena Ochoa and Mark Calcavecchia,
Suzann Pettersen and Fred Funk and women's world No. 1 Yani Tseng and Jeff
Sluman each carded rounds of 7-under 64.
The retired Ochoa returned to action for this two-day charity event.
Brittany Lincicome and Brett Quigley managed a 6-under 65, while Annika
Sorenstam, who also came out of retirement for the tournament, and Peter
Jacobsen struggled to a 2-over 73.
