Ponte Vedra, Fla.--Shane Matthews will be on the sidelines for Nease High School this fall, named the team's head coach today.
The former Gator replaces Danny Cowgill who was let go after his second consecutive 4-6 season.
Matthews is the second high profile "name" to get a local head coaching job. Last week former Seminole linebacker Buster Davis was named the inaugural coach at Duval Charter High School.
Matthews played at UF from 1990-92 and was a three time All-SEC selection for the Gators.
