GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) - Florida's problems go way beyond quarterback John Brantley's ankle injury.

The Gators lack depth and leadership, and don't have nearly as much talent as all those recruiting websites indicate. It's a recipe for failure, especially with a new coaching staff.

Despite three consecutive defeats that have Florida (4-3, 2-3 Southeastern Conference) on the fringe of the Eastern Division race, coach Will Muschamp insists his program is close to championship form.

He says the Gators have to work through their problems and get a win.

They haven't won in nearly a month, a losing streak that has players baffled, fans frustrated and coaches desperately seeking ways to turn things around before next week's game against rival Georgia in Jacksonville.
