Gators fans go home happy: Florida owns the air and ground against Georgia in win in Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Florida Gators found their offensive groove in the program's 24-10 win over the Georgia Bulldogs at EverBank Field in Jacksonville on Saturday.

The back-and-forth rivalry game stayed close throughout the first half, as both offenses used the passing game to move the ball downfield. Georgia quarterback Jacob Eason and Florida quarterback Luke Del Rio both threw for touchdowns and over 80 yards in the first two quarters.

The second half was a whole different story, as the Gators offense found success and the Bulldogs faltered against a strong Florida defense. The Gators offense was aided by a nice mix of run and pass. Wide receiver Antonio Callaway was used in a dual threat role and scored the first rushing touchdown of his college career in the third quarter.

The second half wasn't kind to Eason, as the quarterback completed just 8-of-17 passes for 45 yards in the final two quarters. He finished with a completion rate of 15-of-33 for 143 passing yards and a touchdown.

Georgia's running game failed to find any rhythm in the game. The group was held to 26 rushing yards on 11 carries.

The Gators were able to find success on the ground in the second half and that seemed to be the biggest difference between the two squads. Sophomore running back Jordan Scarlett finished with 23 carries for 93 rushing yards and a touchdown.

Del Rio rebounded from an early turnover and completed 15-of-25 passes for 131 yards, one touchdown and an interception.
