CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) - Fans can watch Clemson play at Death Valley to start the season after all.
The school said Friday it would open the lower bowl of Memorial Stadium so fans could watch the Tigers take on Georgia on Aug. 30 on the arena's video boards.
Clemson said it had sold out its allotment of 7,500 tickets for Sanford Stadium, where the two regional rivals will kick off the regular season for a second straight year. In 2013, Clemson defeated Georgia 38-35 at Death Valley.
Clemson athletic director Dan Radakovich thought opening the Tigers' home stadium would bring fans a unique experience for a gameday like atmosphere while their team is on the road.
The event will be free with select gates opening at 4:30 p.m., an hour before the game starts.
