Brawl overshadows Florida's 4-1 win over Florida State

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- For the second time in a week, the Florida baseball team defeated Florida State. The Gators 4-1 victory was overshadowed by a brawl that took place in the 8th inning.

Yulee native and Bolles grad D.J. Stewart hit a slow roller down the first base line. Gators pitcher Danny Young got in Stewart's way in the base line, and Young was run over. Zack Powers was also knocked down in the collision. Powers got up and got in Stewart's face. The Seminoles right fielder proceeded to push Powers, and then the benches cleared.

In the middle of the melee was Heisman Trophy winner Jameis Winston. He had to be restrained during the fight.

The Gators and Seminoles will meet one more time this season on April 8th in Tallahassee.
