After suspended Dolphins guard Richie Incognito agreed to postpone his grievance hearing pending the completion of Ted Wells' investigation, we reported that Incognito will be meeting with Wells on Thursday or Friday.
As it turns out, Wells and Incognito are meeting on Thursday and Friday.
Jeff Darlington of NFL Network reports that Wells interviewed Incognito from 3:00 p.m. ET until 7:30 p.m. ET on Thursday, and that they will resume the session on Friday.
Incognito's willingness to break the meeting into two consecutive days suggests that a spirit of cooperation and indeed exists. If the process were adversarial, attorney Mark Schamel wouldn't have given Wells the opportunity to review his notes and regroup for a fresh second run at Incognito. Instead, Schamel would have made it clear that it's a one-day, one-shot deal.
We've heard that a sense of confidence exists in the Incognito camp. Time will tell whether the confidence is warranted.
