ATLANTA, Ga. -- One of the greatest talents to ever play in the NBA is accused of kidnapping his children and hiding out in metro Atlanta.
Allen Iverson denies everything. The 38 year old is fighting the accusations made by his former wife.
The former Philadelphia 76er all star made over $200 million in salary alone, but told his ex-wife Tawana in a divorce proceeding last year that he was so broke he couldn't afford a cheeseburger.
Now the battle between Iverson and Tawana has taken another rancorous turn. In Superior Court of Fulton County documents, Iverson's ex claims he abducted their children, ages 3 to 16.
Tawana has sole custody of the kids. She claims Iverson took the children in late May and has been living in a Cobb County hotel for weeks. She wants the kids returned and claims her former husband has an alcohol problem.
WXIA's Jeff Hullinger looked up the hotel in the papers and went to see if we could find Iverson there. He spotted the basketball player walking his kids to his Maybach.
Hullinger offered to show Iverson the court document.
"They say I stole my kids? That's what they say?" Iverson said, but he refused to comment further, saying, "If that's what you believe and people think I'm crazy enough to do, then so be it."
"I ain't never treated fairly, don't expect to be," he added before driving away.
