(KUSA) -- A scary incident at the Colorado Avalanche game Sunday night.
Midway through the first period a puck was tipped into the crowd and hit a spectator in the head.
The netting that shields fans behind the goals was initially put in place in 2002, but the side areas are without protection.
The puck in this case flew over the glass in one of those side areas.
