ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- A St. Augustine teen's memory will be honored at this weekend's Daytona 500 as NASCAR driver Scott Lagasse Jr. pays tribute to Jerad Revels.

The 18-year-old Pedro Menendez teen was killed January 30th in a tractor accident on his family's farm. On Thursday, Scott Lagasse Jr. unveiled a sticker placed on the driver's side of his car in honor of the NASCAR fan.

"The response has been great. I hope it helps in some way, I don't know what you do for a family going through that," said Lagasse Jr., a Nationwide Series driver.

The sticker, designed by a Revels family member, has been placed on the car as a personal favor in a location sponsors normally pay thousands of dollars for. The teen's mother, Terri Rothenhausler, said the experience has been amazing.

"I don't know where I get the strength from sometimes, it must be Jerad giving it to me," said Rothenhausler.

The high school senior, who has been described as a fun, goofy, jokester, was planning on going to a trade college while working on his family farm. A chore the teen had done since he was a child, before and after school every day.

Besides the NASCAR dedication, the Ancient City Gamefish Association's Kingfish Challenge will be held in memory of Jerad Revels on July 12, 13, and 14th.
