JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Ribault Lady Trojans head coach Sheila Pennick has her team in position to return to Lakeland to play for a state title.
The Lady Trojans are one win away from advancing to the final four for the second straight season.
Last season Ribault lost in the FHSAA 4A girls state championship game to Dunbar High School in Fort Myers. A loss that coach Pennick says stills bothers her to this day.
After the loss to Dunbar Pennick says she was stunned and disappointed. She did a self evaluation and decided to go to the doctor for a check up.
Pennick says she was overweight and has spent the last year working out and losing weight.
In fact, Pennick says she's lost about 35 pounds since the end of last season.
Ribault takes on Florida State High at home Saturday at 7 p.m.
