Could this be the first step - dance step, that is - on the road to redemption?
Lance Armstrong has been offered a spot on Dancing With the Stars.
EW.com's James Hibberd reports that ABC invited the former pro cyclist to be on the upcoming spring edition of the reality series. Season 16 premieres March 18.
But - darn - we won't see him waltzing his way around the ballroom. Armstrong declined.
EW reports that the network approached Armstrong before his recent doping confession, but wanted him after that anyway. ABC does not comment on casting rumors.
Confirmed Armstrong's spokesperson: "Lance has been offered the show each and every year since its inception. Although flattered he has passed on their generous offers."
Had he said yes, he could have been competing against Lindsay Lohan. TMZ says she was offered a spot, too. But she turned it down, too.
