New York, NY (Sports Network) - New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady,
Indianapolis Colts cornerback Cassius Vaughn and Cleveland Browns returner
Travis Benjamin were selected as the AFC's top players for Week 14 of the NFL
season.
Brady fueled the Patriots' 42-14 demolition of the Houston Texans on Monday
night by going 21-of-35 through the air for 296 yards and four touchdowns with
no interceptions. The blowout marked the 36th time in his NFL career Brady has
thrown at least three TDs in one game, and his 125.4 passer rating was tops in
the league.
With the honor, the 13-year veteran surpassed rival Peyton Manning for the
most weekly awards with 23.
Vaughn snagged top defensive honors by posting a team-high eight tackles and
returning an interception for a touchdown in the Colts' win over Tennessee.
Vaughn stepped in front of a Jake Locker pass and stumbled backwards into the
end zone to give Indy the lead in the third quarter of a 27-23 victory. The
Ole Miss product received his first career weekly honor.
Benjamin became the first Cleveland player to win the special teams award
since Josh Cribbs early last season after galloping 93 yards for a punt-
return touchdown against Kansas City -- the longest in the AFC this year.
