Davie, FL (Sports Network) - The Miami Dolphins placed left tackle Jake Long
on injured reserve with a left triceps injury on Tuesday.
Long, who also missed the final two games of last season with a torn right
biceps, suffered the injury in the first half of Sunday's loss to the New
England Patriots.
The first overall pick of the 2008 draft has appeared in 74 games for the
Dolphins over his five-year career, earning a bid to the Pro Bowl in each of
his first four seasons.
Right tackle Jonathan Martin replaced Long on the left side on Sunday and is
expected to move there for the remainder of the season.
Miami also signed offensive tackle Patrick Brown and safety Tyrone Culver,
and released defensive back Anderson Russell on Tuesday.
