JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Jaguars announced they have placed quarterback Blaine Gabbert on Injured Reserve.
The announcement comes two days after head coach Mike Mularkey said backup quarterback Chad Henne would start Sunday against the Titans.
Gabbert injured his right forearm in Sunday's games against the Texans. Henne came in as relief and led to the Jags to a thrilling overtime loss to Houston.
The team also announced wide receiver Laurent Robinson has also been added to injured reserve. The team obtained Robinson as a free agent this past offseason.
To replace the injured Gabbert on the roster, the Jags signed fourth-year quarterback Jordan Palmer. Robinson's replacement is newly signed wide receiver Carlton Mitchell, in his third year.
Palmer already spent time with the Jags during the 2012 preseason. During that time, Palmer completed 19 of 36 passes for 204 yards and one touchdown in three games. Prior to his Jacksonville stint, Palmer played with the Bengals for four seasons. His career totals include 10 of 15 passing for 59 yards with two interceptions.
