JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Jacksonville Suns fans are invited to Tuesday's Jacksonville City Council meeting as the life of late owner Peter Bragan Sr. is honored.
The City Council will officially present a framed City Ordinance, which proclaims that the playing surface at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville will now be known as Bragan Field, to the family of Peter Bragan Sr.
The Council meets at 5 p.m. at City Hall, the St. James Building.
Then on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m., fans are invited to a news conference at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville to witness the unveiling of "Bragan Field" on the playing surface.
Mayor Alvin Brown, Council President Bill Bishop, city Executive Director of Sports and Entertainment Alan Verlander and Bragan's family are expected to attend.
