Washington, DC (Sports Network) - The Tampa Bay Rays have placed right-hander
Jeremy Hellickson on the 15-day disabled list with fatigue in his pitching
shoulder.
The move, announced Tuesday, is retroactive to June 15, a day after Hellickson
gave up nine hits -- including three homers -- and eight runs in just 3 2/3
innings in a loss to the Mets.
He is 4-3 this season with a 3.45 earned run average in 13 starts, but is
winless in his last five outings.
The Rays, who are in Washington to play the Nationals, also recalled left
fielder Rich Thompson from Triple-A Durham.
