ST. LOUIS -- A waitress took to Reddit to share her tale of how she got a bogus tip of $200,000 from a customer.
Sara, who only wanted to go by her first name or reveal the establishment where she works, told KTVI that a woman came in with her sister and a man.
The woman was treating her sister and told Sara, "Today I'm your guardian angel."
When Sara looked at the receipt after the woman had signed the $111.54 tip, the woman had put $200,000 in the tip line. However, the woman added wrong and put $211,000.54 in the total line.
Immediately, Sara figured something was up. She learned from her restaurant's management that banks don't honor tips that large.
"It'd be cool to know why she was possessed to give me of all people that kind of money," Sara wrote in her Reddit post.
