ATV similar to one involved in death of 10-year-old, 2011 Polaris Ranger Crew
MARION COUNTY, Fla. -- A 10-year-old was killed after being ejected from an ATV Sunday.
The victim and his 11-year-old friend were riding on 2008 Polaris Ranger Crew Sunday evening, when the 11-year-old driver made a sharp left turn. The maneuver caused the ATV to tilt onto it's right side tires, partially ejecting the 10-year-old passenger.
Neither of the children were using helmets or seatbelts when the incident occurred.
The victim was air lifted to UF Health in Gainesville where he succumbed to his injuries Tuesday morning.
The 11-year-old driver was not injured in the incident.
