JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A man with a criminal history spanning almost 10 years was found dead inside a Northside home Friday night.
Joe Nathan Nimmons, 26, was found shot to death inside a home in the 5200 block of Christobel Avenue in the 45th and Moncrief neighborhood September 13, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
Nimmons was arrested at age 18 for allegedly bringing a gun on school property. About six months later, Nimmons was arrested again for possession of cocaine, according to JSO deprtament of corrections records.
Nimmons' criminal history also includes several charges of driving without a license, trespassing on school grounds, multiple drug possession charges, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, burglary and multiple charges of battery.
In 2011 Nimmons served about 11 months in the Duval County jail for charges of battery on a pregnant victim.
Nimmons' last known address was in the 1500 block of Wigmore Street in the Tallyrand neighborhood.
A second victim who was shot at the house, drove himself to UF Health Jacksonville and is in serious, but stable condition.&
Less than a week after the shooting death of Nimmons, 20-year-old Katravis Ryan Forehand was taken into custody and charged with murder in the shooting death of of Nimmons. Forehand is also facong charges of attempted murder related to the unidentified victim who drove himself to the hospital.
