JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A transient man is charged with manslaughter after getting into a fatal altercation with another man over drugs on Aug. 3.
Terrance Jackson, 36, was identified by witnesses as the man who punched 54-year-old Curtis Jackson at the Shell station at 715 N. Main Street, according to a Jacksonville Sheriff's Office incident report.
According to the report, Terrance Jackson "felt threatened to the point where he punched the victim once in the face with a closed fist, causing him to fall to the ground striking his head on the ground."
JSO consulted with the State Attorney's Office, which decided that Terrance Jackson should be charged with manslaughter, Lt. Rob Schoonover said.
Terrance Jackson was arrested Sunday and is being held on a $100,003 bond, according to the JSO Inmate Search.
