JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office responded to a robbery call and a person shot Friday evening, according to a JSO police report.
The report said, two suspects entered Hungry Howie's in the 8200 block of Normandy Boulevard and one was armed with a gun.
An employee saw the suspects and went in a back room to get a gun. According to the report, the witness came back into the room and fired at the suspects.
One suspect identified as Michael Cole, 23, was shot and transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, the report detailed. It is unknown at this time what condition Cole is in.
The other suspect ran out the front door and around the south side of the building, the release detailed. The witness said in the report that he thought he shot the suspect before he ran off.
JSO placed Cole under arrest at the hospital and was charged with one count of armed robbery with a firearm or other deadly weapon.
