TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Employees at the Florida Department of Revenue's Tennessee Street are back at work after a Monday morning evacuation.
Lt. Mike Bellamy with Tallahassee Fire Department tells ABC Tallahassee the evacuation of approximately 125 employees was ordered after the discovery of a suspicious substance.
Lt. Bellamy says the substance came through the mail to the Department of Revenue's office on Tennessee Street.
"We're investigating that substance to determine what our next step is going to be," Lt. Bellamy said. "It's important to know we have no injuries."
Specifics about the substance or where it came from is not yet being released. Lt. Bellamy says local, state, and federal officials are investigating.
While testing is now being done, Lt. Bellamy says there is no threat to the public.
