Dozens of people were injured Thursday when a charter tour bus
overturned after apparently hitting a big rig on Interstate 210 Freeway
in Duarte, a suburb of in eastern Los Angeles County.

605 Freeway, KTLA reports.The crash left the bus -- with the front
windows knocked out -- resting on its side down an embankment.

It was not immediately clear what company owns and
operates the charter bus, but the route is frequented by "gamblers'
special" buses carrying tourists from the San Gabriel Valley to desert
casinos and Las Vegas.
A KTTV-TV helicopter showed the bus
on its side alongside the freeway. Numerous firefighters and ambulances
are on the scene and apparent victims are being examined in a triage
All lanes of 210 were shut down to allow
emergency helicopters to land, creating a massive traffic jam winding
back for several miles. The highway patrol opened the west bound lanes
after about an hour.
