ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla.-- A St. Johns County teen was arrested after a night of alleged car-hopping and theft.
Terrell Leon Powell Jr., 18, is accused of burglarizing several cars and garages in the Willow Drive area of St. Augustine Beach early Wednesday morning, according to a release from the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office.
The release states unlocked cars and garages were targeted by Powell, who was allegedly able to get away with credit cards, a scooter and a 2002 Lexus RX 300 SUV.
Powell was caught on surveillance video at a Wal-Mart on U.S. 1 South after allegedly using a credit card stolen from one of his victims.
The Lexus was recovered a short time later in a parking lot of the Woodlawn Terrace apartments. Powell was located inside an apartment at the same location and was taken into custody without further incident.
Powell is charged with six counts of vehicle burglary, two counts of grand theft auto, one count of grand theft and one count of fraudulent use of a credit card. Powell is currently in the St. Johns County jail being held without bond.
