PALATKA, Fla. - The Palatka Police Department responded to reports of a possible prowler and instead found a man dead on the porch of a home.
The Palatka Police Department responded to a home at the 700 block of Olive Street in reference to a possible prowler, according to a news release from the Palatka Police Department.
When deputies arrived on March 18 they allegedly found 57-year-old Jerry Mattear unresponsive on the front porch, the release detailed. Rescue responded to the scene and pronounced Mattear deceased.
Mattear's cause of death is unknown and foul play is suspected. An investigation is ongoing.
