PALATKA, Fla. - A Palatka man is accused of beating his robbery victim with a gun.
Deputies with the Putnam County Sheriff's Office responded to a robbery early Saturday morning on the 3000 block of St. Johns Avenue, according to a Facebook post by the Putnam County Sheriff's Office.
When deputies arrived, they allegedly found the robbery suspect, 21-year-old Justin Dudash being held on the ground by several people waiting for the arrival of law enforcement.
Dudash allegedly appeared out of the bushes as a woman was leaving a friend's house and was getting into her car, the post states. Dudash allegedly demanded the woman's purse and threatened her with a pellet gun.
When the victim resisted Dudash, he allegedly struck her several times with his gun, according to the PCSO post.
Friends of the victim told sheriff's they heard their friend screaming, and immediately went to her aid, tackling Dudash.
Dudash was booked into the Putnam County Jail and charged with felony armed robbery.
