JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Police released the name of the man who died from an apparent gunshot wound earlier this week at Roosevelt Gardens, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
Jamal Jackson, 22, was reportedly involved in an altercation with another man just after 4 p.m. Tuesday when he was shot, according to Sgt. Lonnie Mills.

The man involved in the altercation with Jackson is described by Mills as approximately 24 years old with a thin build, wearing a black shirt and black pants. The suspect fled the complex on foot.
Police have canvassed the neighborhood around the apartment complex located in the 700 block of N. Lincoln Court and have interviewed several witnesses.
