JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A suspect in a recent shooting has been found dead, decomposed and floating in a canal.
On Saturday Feb. 2, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office responded to reports of shots fired near the River Oaks Apartments in the 11200 block of Harts Road. Detectives found 20-year-old Richard Davenport dead in a wooded area, according to a statement from JSO.
Jermaine Rashad Mobley, 25, was named as an individual involved with the case and had a warrant out for his arrest on unrelated charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Mobley was found eight days later, heavily decomposed, floating in a canal near the 11200 block of Harts Road on Feb. 9, according to JSO.
According to a release from JSO, no foul play is suspected in Mobley's death at this time.
