JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A man has been charged with aggravated battery in a fight outside EverBank Field during Saturday's Georgia/Florida game that sent another man to the hospital.
James King Colby, 20, was charged with aggravated battery - cause great bodily harm, permanent disability or disfigurement after William Ross Cesery III, 21, was transported to Shands Jacksonville with life-threatening injuries. Cesery was stabilized that night and has since been released from the hospital.
According to the report, the two men were using alcohol.
Colby intervened in what he thought was going to be a fight between Cesery and another individual, according to a Jacksonville Sheriff's Office police report.

After being read his Miranda rights, Colby told police that near the edge of a retention pond outside on the west side of EverBank Field, he pushed Cesery and then Cesery grabbed his shirt.
Colby said Cesery fell down and grabbed him around the ankles, according to the report. The two men fell into the water and Colby punched Cesery three times, knocking him unconscious.
When he realized Cesery was unconscious and saw his blood in the water, Colby said he pulled him out of the water. After that, police took Colby into custody.
As of Tuesday afternoon, Colby was still in the Duval County Jail on a $250,003 bond.
