Gallup suspends polling during Hurricane Sandy
Hurricane Sandy isn't just messing with candidates like President Obama and Mitt Romney.
It's also changing pollsters' schedules.
Gallup announced Monday that it is suspending daily track polling.
A statement from Gallup editor in chief Frank Newport:
"Gallup
has suspended polling for its daily tracking as of Monday night and
will reassess on a day-to-day basis. The ultimate effect on the overall
picture of polling between now and this weekend, including election
polling, will depend on what happens as a result of the storm, about
which we will have a better understanding of on Tuesday and Wednesday of
this week."
The Gallup daily track released Monday had Romney ahead of Obama among likely voters, 51% to 46%.
The two candidates are tied among registered voters at 48%.
