FROSTPROOF, Fla. -- A cold case in Polk County has been solved after authorities arrested a man in connection with his mother's death almost 20 years ago.

Christopher "Shane" Knight is expected to appear in court Friday on manslaughter and second-degree murder charges. It's not immediately known if he has an attorney.

A sheriff's office statement says 37-year-old Jahala Watson was pregnant when she was found stabbed to death in 1993. Knight was 19 at the time. Authorities say the two had been arguing about finances and other issues.

Homicide detectives obtained a warrant this month for the arrest. The 39-year-old Knight was taken into custody on Thursday in Mulberry.
