JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A jury found Jehu Rodriguez Ramirez guilty Thursday afternoon on charges of sexual battery and lewd or lascivious molestation.
In April of 2010 the 33-year-old sexually abused a four-year-old child, according to a news release from State Attorney Angela Corey's office.
Evidence presented in court showed Ramirez inappropriately touched and raped the little girl. The release said Ramirez's girlfriend was babysitting the little girl during the abuse.
The girl's mother reported the abuse to her mother the same day it happened.
Assistant State Attorney Erin Perry said, "This verdict is in large part the result of the bravery of one little child and the excellent investigative work of the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
Ramirez is scheduled to be sentenced the week of November 26. He faces a mandatory life sentence.
