KENNESAW, Ga. -- Authorities say a suspect surrendered to police after a shooting that injured one person led to a police standoff in the Kennesaw area northwest of Atlanta.

Cobb County police Sgt. Dana Pierce tells The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that the suspect surrendered shortly before daybreak Friday.

Police say the injured person was taken to a hospital.

Residents living along Bozeman Lake Road tell CBS Atlanta that police officers knocked on their doors at about 1:30 a.m. Friday, asking them to leave their homes and turn off their outside lights. Members of a Cobb County police S.W.A.T. unit then surrounded the home for much of early Friday morning.
